Personal:

Hey, HHS Cross Country runners. Well, I'm not your coach, but I asked Coach Kidd if I could work out with some of y'all over the summer and she said that was okay, so if you want to get in shape for a sweet XC season we are having a summer running club. Workouts we do in the club will be posted here on a weekly basis so you can keep up with them. We will be meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 7 pm (we can move it if it gets too hot) at the HHS Track starting May 26th. You should come to the workouts if you can but if you are on vacation or just want to run on your own for a few days or something you can keep up by checking this blog. My contact info is: Joe Furse, 435-216-8783, trackstar431@gmail.com if you have questions or whatever.

This is just a way for us to get together and motivate each other to get in shape over the summer so y'all can take Region and maybe even State. It's always funner to run with other people, and it really even helps improve your team in cross country to train together so you can race together.

I will also post info about races over the summer that I can find out about so you can get into those if you wish. You may also want to check out www.utahraceguide.com

Note: there will probably be 3 different workouts posted depending on how many kids come out and experience levels. Go with the one that is a challenge but won't injure you.

Hopefully we can get to the level by the time official practices start where beginners are running 5-6 miles per day and those with a little more experience running 7-8 miles per day. Those who might be running varsity or who have been running for a year or so should work up to 9-10 miles per day or more if you feel like you can. These are just general guidelines but they will really help you.

Official practices with Coach Kidd start on July 28th at 7 am.

Happy Running!!
